Finally Back Home, and Worrying Again

My younger sisters, father, and I went to Washington D.C. on the 17th and returned today. As a result, it's been exhausting and mind-numbing for myself these past three days. And almost the whole time, my father insisted it was a celebration for my younger sister's birthday. I don't believe that. Does a long roadtrip to visit old monuments sound like a fun time for a nine year old's birthday? I don't think so. The birthday girl was really excited about was throwing bread to the ducks and watching them eat it, however. She also a had a good attitude most of the time so that says something too, I guess. My other sister said she had a good time though. Well, I'm glad they did, I guess, even if I could not.

The trip there took basically...six hours? I know we left at 11:00 AM, and I think we got to the hotel at 4:00 PM. Luckily there was not much fighting between my sisters and I. Pretty sure we walked around a little bit to the US Capitol that first day, my sisters(and me for like 5 seconds) swam in the hotel's small indoor pool, and then we ordered room service for dinner at the hotel that night. It was all very boring. I just wanted to be home with my cat, not on a disorganized history field trip. Later that night, I had to sleep with my other younger sister. She coughed often, which made the bed tremble. She also kept squirming, tossing and turning, and taking up the majority of the bed, laying down like a starfish. First, I tried sleeping for an hour with that. Then, I gave up and went to the chair in the room. That did not work. After a while, I tried the floor, and covered up with a towel. Did I mention the AC made the entire hotel icy? Because it did. Anyway, sleeping was clearly not an option. So I just stayed up for the night, on my phone. Not fun in the slightest.

Next day, it was zoo(The Fishing Cat we saw was cool), air and space museum(So boring! My father loved it though. Again, doesn't seem like a birthday trip...), and an art museum(That one happened around closing time, so we only got in 5 minutes. Was totally fine with that. My father was sad though.). I was still sleep deprived and slept better that night at least.

And then, here we are today. Had "eh" hotel pancakes. Then we fought more on the ride home today, because my damn sister wanted to watch Box Trolls when no one else wanted it. I don't know. I just wish I wasn't forced to go in the first place. Road trips are not fun, and I don't know what my father was going on about. I genuinely don't think I got anything fun out of the experience, except for a cheetah plush from the zoo.

No way in a million years am I ever letting him do anything like this for my 18th birthday...which is the thing I'm worrying about again. :( But you know why.

  I hope you're doing well.

Didn't bother to take much at the Air and Space Museum.
